HUD Expands Asset-Building Support for HUD-Assisted Families

HUD recently announced that it will publish a rule to implement changes to the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. The FSS program promotes increased earnings and savings among families receiving HUD-funded rental assistance. To achieve this, FSS utilizes case management and financial coaching services and a financial incentive.

White House Announces Reduced Internet Costs for Low-Income Households

The White House and HUD recently announced an expansion of the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). As part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the legislators created the ACP, which allows tens of millions of American households to reduce their internet service costs by up to $30/month (or $75/month on Tribal lands). President’s Budget Proposes Major Hikes in Housing Funding

HUD Issues Report on Feasibility of National Evictions Database

Jan 14, 2022

The 2021 Appropriations Act tasked HUD with studying the feasibility of creating a national evictions database. The database would collect information on three types of evictions: formal court-ordered evictions, extra-legal evictions (unlawful or self-evictions), and administrative evictions (PHA evictions of public housing residents).
