2011 AAFs Published by HUD

Mar 16, 2011

The Revised Contract Rent Annual Adjustment Factors (AAFs) for 2011, which are used to adjust contract rents for some multifamily projects, have been published by HUD. The AAFs, effective March 16, 2011, are developed based on Consumer Price Index data on changes in residential rent and utility costs.

The rent indices are calculated annually, in time for the publication of proposed Fair Market Rents for the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program. AAFs for existing HAP contracts are also published in the Federal Register (Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program Contract Rent Annual Adjustment Factors; Final Rule).

The AAF schedules include 123 areas—119 separate metropolitan areas and 4 census regions.

To view the AAFs published in the Federal Register, go to http://www.huduser.org/portal/datasets/aaf.html.
