Price is Right for $29.25M Baltimore Technology Center

Apr 7, 2010

Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. (HTA), a self-managed, non-traded, real estate investment trust, has announced its acquisition of the Triad Technology Center in Baltimore, Md., for $29,250,000. The 101,400-square-foot building, located on the Johns Hopkins University Bayview Medical Center Research Campus, is 100 percent leased for an eleven-year term to the U.S. government and is primarily occupied by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

This is HTA’s second Baltimore/Washington D.C. marketplace acquisition. HTA executives have stated that they will continue to look for strategic opportunities to find and acquire high- performing medical office assets in the area. The company was attracted to the Triad deal because of the government’s credibility and predictability as a tenant.
