Super Gets Prison Sentence for Looting Tenants

A New York superintendent was recently sentenced to three to nine years in prison for stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of art and jewelry from tenants.

He pleaded guilty in February to grand larceny and declined to speak at his sentencing. The super had a record that dates back to 1984 and includes convictions or guilty pleas in New York and Florida, according to Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon.

In the latest case, the super ultimately admitted stealing one tenant’s artwork, plus more than $23,000 in jewelry from another tenant while overseeing a delivery to the person’s apartment.
