Senator Cantwell Seeks Personal Stories to Strengthen Case for LIHTC Expansion

May 12, 2016

Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) is seeking personal stories of individuals and families who have struggled to find affordable housing and/or have experienced homelessness. Her office is looking for a large volume of stories to help demonstrate to her fellow legislators the widespread and urgent need to invest more federal resources in affordable housing.

In March, Senator Cantwell kicked off a nationwide campaign to expand the low-income housing tax credit program. Her forthcoming legislation would increase LIHTC allocation authority by 50 percent and make other changes to strengthen the program.

To submit stories, you can fill out a short form on Senator Cantwell’s website.
