HUD Launches EnVision Center Initiative

HUD recently announced the launch of EnVision Centers, a new initiative designed to help HUD-assisted households achieve self-sufficiency. The centers will address the issue of long-term skills and training. And the mobile app will have job listings, and the centers will provide resources and guide GED training programs.

“While funding for HUD has increased over the last 20 years, the number of households served has remained the same. We need to think differently about how we can empower Americans to climb the ladder of success,” Secretary Ben Carson said in announcing the centers. “EnVision Centers are designed to help people take the first few steps towards self-sufficiency. Every household we are able to help graduate from HUD assistance allows HUD to help one more family in need.”

As a part of the initiative, HUD will launch 10 pilot EnVision Centers across the country. And the first EnVision Center will be located in Detroit.
